After nearly two years without an iPad update, Apple is rumored to be launching a new range of iPads, potentially introducing an OLED iPad Pro equipped with an M3 chip and an iPad Air featuring an unprecedented 12.9-inch display.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports that Apple aims to unveil its newest iPad Pros, boasting OLED screens, in early May. Additionally, there is anticipation for the debut of a larger iPad Air, marking its first venture into the 12.9-inch display category.

The forthcoming iPad Pro models are expected to incorporate Apple’s proprietary M3 chip and a redesigned Magic Keyboard that sports an expanded trackpad. The iPad Air is speculated to be available in two sizes, maintaining the standard 10.9-inch model and introducing a new 12.9-inch variant, and it's likely to house the previous generation M2 chip. Currently, the iPad Pro models are equipped with M2 chips, and the iPad Air runs on an M1 chip.

According to Bloomberg, Apple had initially targeted a launch window at the end of March or in April for these devices, but adjustments in the software development timeline necessitated more time. Should the May release timeframe hold, this would position Apple's new iPad lineup to precede the WWDC 2024, scheduled for June 10th.
